Final comment in the article, "If I could pick only one car for every occasion, this would be it."

I didn't notice the alacantara steering wheel with flappy paddles on the option list when spec'ing mine.

Again, it's making me want to get my hands on mine even more so now, great timing.

Nice article though and some good shots of the interior.
Nothing to see here.... move along in an orderly fashion please!

Alcantara is lovely - just not on a steering wheel - it goes "off" so quickly!!

I am not sure about the Alcantara either. I like it on the XD3 as it is a sporty touch on an SUV, but the D3 Touring strikes me as more a classy/luxury car so Piano Black of Luxury Wood are better suited?

Still, each to their own. Matt Stripling ordered it before he left and he really like it on Facebook.

I love the rest of the spec - Alpina Blue, decals, H&K, LSD, Cashmere Merino leather etc. But I wonder how many people paying £65k will like the Alcantara. We shall see. You can change the trim for a couple of grand - I did it on my D5.

Mines still lovely on the E91 D3, but I do treat it and look after it, if folk don't then yes it mats up with dirt quickly and the feel isn't great.
