50 years 2015 Potential Uk celebration ideas

Post by Norrie » Tue Oct 14, 2014 9:05 pm

I have been thinking, out loud about some potential gathering to celebrate 50 years of Alpina here in the UK.

I could lodge an attempt with Guinness for the largest gathering of Alpina cars a World record! I have already done this for BMW cars for 2016 100 years of BMW.

We could possibly have a parade lap and the gathering at the Silverstone Classic probably on the Sunday in July 2015. However, we would need to run this alongside the BMWCCGB. This would make some sense as participants can get a 2 for 1 early bird ticket, the club has recently had two parade laps at Silverstone. The separate Alpina parking could be in the display area for BMWCC and next to BMW UK Limited, which is normally in a prime position within the circuit grounds.

The Classic is a three day event and that may appeal to overseas Alpina groups who I am in touch with and make it worth their attendance. There is plenty to occupy all the family including pop concerts in the evening in the admission price.

I would try and work with Sytner Alpina and get them to endorse this and be an integral part.

There may be many reasons why this is not a good idea or clashes or other better ideas, your thoughts please, good or bad its ok,
