Audi TT (GOT ONE)!

Post by MickB3 » Tue May 15, 2012 5:50 pm

Anyone got any experience on these please, what to look out for etc.
I see they can have issues with the instrument pod and I will be negotiating hard if
it has not had the Cambelt changed.

Any other info would be much appreciated.

Oh it will be 01 - 04 coupe and has to be the 180BHP as its for my daughter and she is only 22

Cheers

Hi Mick, we have had 3 TTs in total all from new and kept each for 3yrs, one 225 and 2x 3.2s. Only trouble had was the binnacle on the mark one which was replaced under the warranty, as I recall I think the fuel gauge and backlights started playing up, all well documented on other forums. No other problems to speak off and my wife (and I) have really liked them especially the DSG 3.2, but that's not the issue. The Audi forums are very useful and the engine is quite ubiquitous throughout the VAG range so any problems are well documented. My view is that they have been trouble free, feel free to ask if there is anything I can help with

At that age there is the usual potential for VAG electrical issues.

Just make sure all the lights come on when the key is turned......

..... and then go off again.

A mate had a sensor in the 4wd box go recently and it was quite a few £100 to replace.

On a positive note we have been able to widen our search as we have learnt the 225 is the same insurance cost
 :D

Nice little cars, always liked them, surprisingly cheap these days too.

151,000 miles regularly serviced. Usual wear and tear bits and bobs but
Still running strong. Been an excellent car.
