Looks nice Hap. What do you think is not right with it?

I like the light interior with dark exterior. The steering wheel is differnent and the radio needs a widescreen unit.

Looks like you have dug up an old link hap, that's the lot number from a sale in Sep-18 when it sold for £5.5k

It's main problem is the eBay stripes, otherwise I agree with Rav, it's nice.

It’s the engine can’t see the alpina inlet manifold, exhaust is standard bmw not alpina
And it was previously on the later wheels with the swivel caps. The steering wheel being correct
No doubt it’s a facelift Alpina and agree beautiful contrast

Oh wow, I must've never looked at the engine bay pics, that looks all kinds of wrong. Is the cam cover even genuine?

Double vanos M52tu or M54 engine, not the correct S52 based single vanos engine.

Does have two VIN numbers on the strut tower though.

Maybe the original 3.3 engine failed for one reason or another and replaced with an M54B30?

Those were my thoughts - everything looks right apart from the engine.

I remember seeing a B3 saloon in same colour scheme for sale on eBay, with similar reg without the engine or transmission. It may not be this car but it was discussed here previously.

The one dans bought and removed the engine for another project?

The wheels look wrong on that car. The facelift E46 Alp had different wheels to those, they look like the early E46 versions?

Condition looks great but have to agree something doesn't add up. My opinion/theory...the owner had a 330i....there was a wrecked b3...and he transfered the parts....the suspension remained standard...

Steering wheel doesn't have the switchtronic buttons on it either.

I've never seen a strut butchered like this before
