It runs, but it's knackered, which was why I bought it (and probably why nobody else had done in 6 months) I wanted an engine to rebuild to go into a project, so I bought this for the engine, I'm just getting rid of the rest.

Cheers

I bought it to rebuild, I wanted an Alpina 3.3 or 3.4 engine for a project and always intended to totally rebuild whatever engine I bought, It just happened that a B3s came along.

yes. and it was already reasonable. Until it's been stripped down I won't know, but it was smoking, leaking oil, down on power and idling very erratically. the owner was servicing it based purely on mileage, doing 1500 miles at most every year and then only 5 miles at a time in traffic, so it was getting hot, burning oil, getting left, only having more oil added when it warned him it needed it, only having problems fixed - like emissions - when it failed an MOT based on them.

It's not a secret, I just won't know for certain until it's opened up next week.
