Now Sold - Alpina Roadster S Lux #344

Post by Glyn » Sat Mar 17, 2012 11:03 pm

I have taken the difficult decision to sell the Roadster S. We're currently looking at moving from my flat into somewhere with a garden(!) so something had to give. I really hope to get back into an Alpina in the not too distant future.

ALPINA ROADSTER S LUX 3.4

Alpina Build Number 344 (Penultimate UK Car Made)

First registered 12th October 2005.

Japan Red (1 of 9 RHD Roadster S made in this colour).

This is the LUX model which includes extras such as the navigation system and extended leather. See spec below.

FBMWSH (Full BMW Service History)

BMW Insured Warranty - Fully Comprehensive with no excess (transferable to new owner)

79,350 miles

£12,300

I am the 3rd registered keeper.

I have owned this car since April 2011 and have really enjoyed ownership. Only used on weekends.

I bought the car from the 2nd keeper who bought it as an AUC from Sytner Nottingham in May 2008.

Two new Michelin Pilot Sport 2 tyres were fitted to the rear in November 2011 (OEM specification).

12 Months MOT (no advisories)
Service indicator states over 6000 miles until next service

This car has been fitted with what appears to be every optional extra.

All keys, Alpina leather wallet, manuals, service booklet, previous MOT certificates. Tracker.

Sorry to see you're having to sell, Glyn. Be sad to lose you, and for you to lose her. The trials and tribulations of settling down, huh?

Having seen her (and knowing who was her previous) if anyone asks about getting a tidy Roadster, we'll point them in your direction. Good luck with the sale

BTW, did you sell the hardtop?

Now sold.

I've never felt so sad seeing a car drive away but it's time to be enjoyed by the new owner who owned one a few years back.

Really enjoyed my time in this friendly and helpful community and I think I'll still be lurking/posting on here from time to time.

Cheers, Glyn

Sad to see you go, Glyn, but pleased you've moved her on to safe hands.
Is the new owner known on here?

Hopefully see you permanently back here when you buy your next one :)

It has Phil.

Hope you are not stalking me.

I know how Glyn must have felt when I pulled away as I had the same pangs myself when I sold Roadster #035 back in 2007 having had her from new.

Just waiting on the DVLA now to process the paperwork, then she will be reregistered as E85 ALP.

Alpina is a very small and select world - as I am finding out :D

Well, the shortest period of time I've ever owned a car at just 5 days and the least miles I've ever covered at just 62, most of which was driving back from Glen at Nottingham.

I'm now into my 3rd Roadster S having traded No.344 in for No.155, sapphire black, imola red leather interior with Lux Pack that appeared on the Sytner Coventry website the Monday following my Saturday purchase of No.344.

Hi Simon

Good to see you're back in a Roadster

Curious as to why you jumped out of 344 so quickly (only as it was my old car) was it much lower miles etc... PM me if you'd prefer to.

Also have you added 155 to the register yet?

When I saw that #344 had been px'd at Sytners I phoned them to enquire but was told that it couldn't be sold as an AUC (presumably because of mileage) and it was going out as a trade sale.

It appeared for sale here a couple of weeks ago

http://www.s2000-4u.co.uk/bmw-z4-3.3-al ... re-2156994

but it looks like it's sold in the last few days. They were asking just under £14k, what they got is anyone's guess - perhaps the new owner will turn up here.
