There's a Facebook post doing the rounds about an Alpina meet in June - can anyone confirm more information on this and is it in any way 'official'?

I don’t think it’s anything “official”, just Alpina owners in the FB group trying to organise a meet. I put my name down for it as I have never been to the Ace cafe and thought this was a good excuse to check it out.

Please note you will need to find out who is organising this, there is precious little parking space at this location. The road in front is at least double yellow if not red lines. It is a very busy route and bus route. If you do attend and have not been allocated a space be prepared to be disappointed or take a chance where you can park. The Police I have witnessed have issued tickets for fix penalties before.

However, if you are parked on the car park in front of the Café you will be Ok and it is a good atmosphere. In terms of "Official" to the best of my knowledge there is no official club for Alpina unless you include this register under the wing of the BMWCCGB Limited.

The guy organising it was told there is 50 spaces so I guess if you want to go get your name on the list.

Jason Yatin is currently in the process of registering on the forum. I've been chatting to him on facbook regarding the meet and he has asked me to post the following message:

Hello all!

Im glad youve heard about the meet scheduled on Saturday 23rd June 2018 at Ace Cafe London.

To clarify this is NOT an official Alpina meet but i have had had a E-mail from Gary Lott and Jonathan Noy at Alpina Sytner that they will try and have a representative from Alpina attend.

Our slot is booked in from 10.30am - 4pm. After which i will organise a drive into central London for those who are interested and maybe some dinner somewhere.

The venue can hold upto 50 cars on their lot and there is parking on the main road. The parking lot spaces are first come first served on the morning so if you want to get a good spot get there early! I will need your registration plate for security to allow you to park on the lot.

I have had response from 25 owners in the BMW Alpina Group on Facebook that i am a member of that they would like to attend so if you are interested please let me know ASAP to reserve your space!

Please Email your details to yatin@actonstat.com and ask any questions if you have any...

Regards

Yatin

I had a FB chat with this chap last night. It is his first ALPINA and he does not know too much about them ( not saying I do either). I suggested he might like to meet up before this event and perhaps start to compile a list of those who want to attend on here like we normally do. I did request that he tried, where possible, to keep it to genuine ALPINA.

However, without starting another debate about much older vehicles and Sytner and other modifications in part or whole, this might not be that simple. I suggested he might seek advice if unsure.

He has to submit a list of vehicles and their registration for the ACE café security for 50 spaces.

I’m not on FB but from what I’ve read on other forums it seems that FB tends to have a “newer’ crowd than the forum version which makes sense and they do things a bit differently and nothing wrong with that. It might be interesting to pop along and see how things go and with a potential 50 places up for grabs there could be a good range of cars.

I think I’d turn down the opportunity of driving into central London in a convoy 😊

I've had a further message from Jason Yatin as below to add onto here whilst he is still awaiting registration onto the forum:

Thank you all for your response and support. The spaces are filling up quicker than i thought! I have had a fair few people confirm attendance already

Please can you E-mail me the following information. Yatin@actonstat.com

Full name
Reg number
Model
Colour
Build number (to confirm authenticity)
Contact number

This information will be passed on to Ace Cafe to allow you on to the parking lot.

It is first come first served. So if you want a good spot i suggest you get there early!

Look forward to meeting you 🙂
