I don't understand why I have been bumped off the list for a place on the Alpina stand. I am a BMW club member (£35), Alpina register member (£5) and I especially bought my ticket for Gaydon on 12th July as Andy's posting said we had to do this to be confirmed. I had to pay for the Gaydon ticket twice last year before the club office would send it to me so I left plenty of time this year.

This was all that was in the original instructions for getting on to the stand, so why am I off now?

Jezza,

I'm sure that this is an administrative cock-up and Andy will be able to get you on the stand.

If he cannot, then I am happy to give up my place for you to display your car.

However I am sure that it won't come to that - Andy can be very persuasive when it comes to dealing with the club office.

Looking forward to seeing you there

Take care

Charles,

Thanks very much for your offer, but I couldn't possibly accept it as your car represents 12.5% of the B3S' in the UK, and mine is much more common.

However, if Andy could get me back on the stand then that would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

Jezza

i'm very confused.. on the 30th July I posted that following a conversation with the club - that there had been a very poor uptake from the members and that many hadn't purchased there tickets and that all of those interested in being on the stand should order their tickets and display passes no later than the 4th August - otherwise the club wold start to sell these to other interested members

Before this time and almost every day during this period - I had been checking with the club office to get a daily update on who had purchased tickets (the club had the same list of members for the display as I had)

Never once did they inform me that you had bought a ticket/display pass and therefore as I you can see from the postings i wasn't able to bold your name and confirm your status.

I can only try and guess how you got a ticket without being asked about the register display (did you mention that you were an ALPINA register member and that you wanted to display your car?)

I will speak to the office in the morning and try and see how your display pass has been overlooked (and presumably sold to another member) despite you having bought your ticket...

I did try last week to get another member on the stand as they had been on holiday when the deadline had been set and passed and the club were not willing to help me out by giving me 1 / 2 more spaces.. I therefore don't want to appear too confident that this situation can be rectified.. however being as it seems to be their fault I hope they will facilitate.

However like Charles has said this appears to be a cock up by the office and slightly out of my control - there is certainly nothing personal and It's not that your car has been bumped off the display - simply that I wasn't aware that you had a ticket - yet no display pass...

I will try and resolve this and post on here as soon as there is news.

Hi Andy,
For those who lives in Leicester and like to set off together to Gaydon, where we shall meet on Sunday 20/8 and what time on that day? Can you give us a hint :P . Thanks.

Yes sadly me and Simon will be heading down to be there for 8-8.30

where as you guys should be there for around 9-9.30 am

By all means you should travel in convoy but i wouldn't advise coming down too early with us two because you'll only find that you have to park on the muddy car park until 9am

Well, that's me scuppered. I mentioned previously that I have Alan Wood's ticket & pass, but he doesn't have my Alpina stand pass, therefore I have no stand pass at all - just a ticket.

I was promised one by the club (Andrew Dale responded to my email) two weeks ago, but it never appeared. Does this mean I'm not on, or is my place secure?

Has anybody got a detailed map or directions of the venue. I can find the village of Gaydon but no museum in the area. As its my first time there i don"t want to get lost and be late. Looking forward to it, hope the weather holds out for everybody. :dance

Very simple:

M40 Junction 12
On leaving the motorway - from south turn left away from M40 heading west-ish, from North, cross over M40, again heading west-ish
After 1/2 mile at junction with B4100 turn right
After 1/2 mile entrance to Museum etc on the left

See you there :D
