Lucky 7 ey Phil, hope you don't miss her too much. Epic car. Look forward to seeing you back in one before too longPhillV8S wrote: ↑Sun May 29, 2022 5:36 pmSaid goodbye to #100. After 7 great years it has gone off to its new home, the new owner is already a member here.
Happy to know it is leaving me in a better condition than when I got it and gone to a good home and fellow enthusiast. No doubt I will return to Alpina ownership yet again in the future and will pop by from time to still no doubt.

Re: What did you do in your ALPINA today?
Exercised the “Carly” today ! … and two things that have always niggled me have now been solved
1. Door mirrors did not fold when locking car
2. You have to stop the car to put the roof up – can be really inconvenient if it rains when traffic has boxed you in with no opportunity to pull over.
So after some careful exploration of the Carly app these are now fixed.
Mirrors now fold half second after locking the car, and vice versa of course.
Top can be put up, or down, while slow moving up to 19mph.
The Carly app has a some ‘dead wood’ settings in it, but some are very apt, and a few look highly risky, so you need to think carefully about it all, and make sure you do a backup BEFORE changing anything.

Not Today due to lack of wifi - but Friday.
Sat in the queue at Dover with 30,000 Liverpool supporters - didn't have the balls to shout out - "we're all Barnsley aren't we", lol!!
Anyway - first Euro trip in the old girl since 2018 - and probably the longest that we have sat in it since 2019.
Forgotten what an awesome car this is - almost as quiet as my electric Skoda - and 28mpg on the run down from South Yorkhire.
Bit lower since we hit the peripherique in Paris.
Just wish, work wasn't calling and we could head to the South of France, haha!!
As the lads in the office said - SOON be back!!

Sorry to see this Phil - that is one great car - always been jealous of that one.PhillV8S wrote: ↑Sun May 29, 2022 5:36 pmSaid goodbye to #100. After 7 great years it has gone off to its new home, the new owner is already a member here.

Enjoy your Italian stablemate - hopefully it is more reliable than ours that's spent the last 2 months in the garage wondering why it can't select a gear , lol!!
Good luck and hopefully see you around again.

Still enjoying the Maser, thankfully been behaving it’s self. I just picked up a L405 Range Rover as the “sensible car”. What could possibly go wrong…..
Many great memories with the B6 but the Maser suits my Sunday motoring needs better. So many great cars to try, such little time!

Driving around Normandy with my D4 doing the D-Day beaches and cemeteries. Had my heart in my mouth driving into Paris but got a parking space at my hotel. And relax.

She came out of her 7 month hibernation last week for a mot, a new fuel pump and a oil change with filter.
Today I gave her a clean and stretched her legs on the A2 to the Medway.

Glad it’s gone to a good home Phil - it’s an amazing car. As you say though, sometimes you need a change no matter how good it is.PhillV8S wrote: ↑Sun May 29, 2022 5:36 pmSaid goodbye to #100. After 7 great years it has gone off to its new home, the new owner is already a member here.

Re: What did you do in your ALPINA today?
Seems like it’s been a week of European road trips! We’ve just got back from a fantastic week near Paris. The car was superb - what a way to cover a long distance. It even did pretty good on fuel - I saw over 30mpg on the run down to Kent, mainly thanks to all the 50mph sections on the M1! Came home on the M40 which was deserted this evening….

Similar distance and average speed to my trip today - interesting to see the fuel economy of D5 vs B5.....
