Alpina E36 3.2 replica

Post by smileyboy » Thu Feb 17, 2005 2:30 pm

I have a 1997 E36 328i. I am looking to find a few bits and pieces to make my own replica. I am new to the group here. I have read alot about Alpinas. I love the cars.

Living here in the States it cane be hard to find parts and such for these cars. I am lookng to start with the suspension for my 328i. I would like to end up with a V8 in my car. But, I don't think my bank account can handle all of the cost.

SO I have a few questions.
1. What is the cost of doing a V8 conversion?

2. Would i be cheaper to work with the engine that I have?

3. Where can I buy a suspension kit?

4. What can I do with the engine that I have?

My goal is to get close to 220-230hp out of the car.
thanks

Hello, personally I think you are better off buying one original my personal fave is the b8 4.6 (long Live The King) e36 coupe 333bhp and an m3 shitter!! (Best way to discribe), i think in my view the best alpina made, it would cost you a fortune to build one from scratch, just remeber an original will allways remain an original but a fake will be remembered as a wannabe!! a good start will be ebay, the rest im dreading!! bmw alpina dealers!! Good luck!
