what CTEK charger do I want

Post by ad_b10v8 » Sun Mar 12, 2017 9:14 pm

fully in the realm of first world problems here...

I have an e39 530d sport touring for my daily transport (220,000miles and counting!), my "new" e39 b10v8 is only a toy really. So before the battery dies from infrequent trips out I'm going to wire in a charger to keep him good to go.

From the tinter web reviews I'm sold on the CTEK brand (and if they're good enough for OEM's they're good enough for me)

But which one? The choice is huge.

I use two 5.0 on the cars that are not being used with no problems.
B6 convertible 4.4 black with silver decals .
B5 saloon 4.4 black with silver decals .

I have used the CTEK Multi XS 4003 for years and just got the CT5 Time to Go.

This unit gives you the charging time remaining. Both have a maintaining function totally automatic

I bought the CTEK MXS 7.0 just over a year ago from Amazon, I would certainly recommend it.

I have an early and very basic model, it does the job just fine. Currently operating outside (sealed in a plastic container) :)
