E21/E30 C1 2.3 buying advice

Hi, I've been reading the forum for a while and researching as much as I could. Ive currently got a 130i as a daily driver and a Westfield I'm finished off building that I'm going to sell to buy an Alpina.

The cars that interest me are e21s and and e30 C1 2.3. What I wanted to know was how much I should be looking to pay for a reasonable example of either model?

I'm aware there were only 35 of the E30s produced but I womdered how many e21s were produced?

Any information would be appreciated.

good luck in the search, thats all I can say, especially with the e21. I doubt there are many e30 c1 2.3's about today, most would have lost their parts or rotted away.

Reasonable examples can go for huge sums, its not uncommon to see an e30 going for £12k+ that still needs some fettling and to be honest its a long time since I've seen an e21 C1 advertised and actually sell that it's hard to give a rough guide price.

Number of UK supplied/built Alpina e30's is probably easier to figure over the e21 as the e21 build (for the UK at least) was by TWR and records no longer exist to show the numbers converted or sold, where as at least Sytner held some records, but despite trying, only a handful of records seem to have survived, and as far as i'm aware Sytner no longer have all the info to hand (probably wrong on that, but would welcome the clarification).

AG. I think you are right regarding Sytner records. I know when I was trying to research the authenticity of my B2.5 there was a big gap in their records right where my VIN No should have sat.

Thanks for the replies guys. I thought it may be the case. I have seen one example for sale of either model but wasn't sure if they were too expensive.

The first one was he white lhd auto e30 on eBay at £25k, this seemed a little high considering it sold at auction for under 20 last year?

I also saw a silver e21 for sale in Belgium at around £28k, I had 323i badges front and rear which put me off slightly as I got the feeling it may be a replica. Even if it wasn't, I still wasn't sure if it was worth the value.

they built about 12 e21s? i think and 35 odd e30.

You'll have a better chance of finding a C2 2.7 i'd say which itself is hard. Problem is 95% of whats left is patched up shit, very few decent cars left now
