DVLA Auction @ Mercedes Benz World

Post by bmw virgin » Sun Sep 09, 2012 12:38 am

Popped down to Mercedes Benz World today where the gf bought herself a personalized plate at the
DVLA Auctions.

Apart from the auction there was some rather nice Mercs in their museum - here are a few pics:-

Apart from a few nice Bentley's, there was also this very nice Maserati in the carpark...

and #90 of course! :D

Not sure it's the done thing to post pics of Merc's on a BMW Alpina site  but they were rather nice!

In addition to the auction & the museum, they were running "Hot" laps, skid pan drives + a cinema showing the F1 practice laps & of course, a shop!

All in all, With the blazing sun and some loveley cars, it was a very pleasant morning!

Interesting that Mika Hakkinen's car has MB on its side, yet he retired in 2001. MB purchased Ilmor Racing Engines (well, 55% of it) in 2002  Retrospective fame-claim as Ilmor supplied his championship-winning engines? (upon which Liz did some R&D work )

Nice pics, though: especially the last one 8)
