Thanks for the links!
I did search but it came back with a load of unwanted threads.
I was hoping that we may have someone in the trade amongst our members or there were members who had recently upgraded their systems?

Sytner Solihull didn't remove the tyre for my refurb either but the repair looks good to me! The last time I went they let me off with paying for an engine bay clean & today they were hinting at charging for fitting a set of Europlates I'd just bought but decided to fit them for free! I'm very impre...

E46 B3s Coupe stereo upgrade - Any suggestions?
Hi All! Was thinking of upgrading the sound system in my E46 B3s Coupe and wondering if any of you were in the trade or had done the same?! My car has the cassette radio, with cd changer in boot but no sat nav. I've heard BMW speakers aren't up to much but what about their head units? Would I be abl...

Thanks for all your advice & suggestions! I ended up taking the car to Sytner's Solihull. I had a free valet voucher + one for 1/2 price wheel refurb. I booked the car to have one wheel refurb'd, the engine bay cleaned & the valet too. They charge £20 for the engine bay clean but because it didn't ...

I had one wheel refurbed at Sytner Solihull only yesterday. I had a half price voucher they'd sent the previous owner. The full price was £55 but, as hinted at in a previous post, I'm not sure they do a "proper" refurb. The guy said they keep the tyre on when doing the work.....said it would mean t...

You might want to take a look at the Motor Insurers' Bureau's web site....they deal with accident claims where the third party does a runner or isn't insured. http://www.mib.org.uk/Home/en/default.htm I was involved in a hit & run.....when the insurance company couldn't trace the driver, the case wa...

Know a good dent remover?
Hi! I've not owned the B3s 6 weeks and someones put a 10p sized "dent" in the rear o/s wing......yes it's only small but it's noticable! I seem to remember there's a company/ies that specialise in removing small dents, rather than repairing in the usual way? Can anyone help.....needs to be West Midl...

Thanks for the advice guys! I'm not adverse to spending time on cleaning/polishing the exterior of the car but the engine bay is a bit more awkward. So I think I'll save the money I'll need to spend on degreasers, brushes etc & put it towards getting a local detailer to do the job! The car is ...

Best way to clean under bonnet?
Hi! Had the B3s for nearly a month now and have purchased all number of cleaning & polishing items to do the exterior! I've noticed that the under bonnet area is pretty dusty/dirty....god knows how it got the way it is....petrol filler flap is much the same! What I want to know is what's the best wa...

Ok, so the alarm system is more than enough....5 stars on Thatcham site. Yes, I have the diamond shape keys but I'm not sure if I fancy cutting one open. What puzzles me is, when it won't unlock, if I press the lock button & then the unlock, it'll open ok?! No, don't have a tracker & would have to c...

E46 B3s Security
Hi All! Just bought my first Alpina....a B3s Coupe and was wondering about security!? Can you tell me if the BMW security system is any good or have most of you replaced it? Does anyone have an intermittent problem with remote unlocking the car? Sometimes the car will only unlock if I press the lock...

Detailers advice for polishing a light metallic BMW/Alpina!
Hi All! Just thought I'd pass on advice I received from detailing company, Polished Bliss, for hand polishing a light metallic BMW/Alpina. When I wrote to them I informed them that I intended to wax the car using a natural carnauba wax, so the following description has taken that into account. The p...

Hi All! Just bought a Titanium Silver B3s and was looking to give it a good polish! In the past I've contacted detailing company, "Polished Bliss", for advice on detailing my Montreal Blue 328i Sport, so I thought I'd do the same for the Alpina! Below is his response to my query:- The paint on this ...
