Re: B10 V8 Engine Noise - Help Required

The oil change a couple of years seemed to get rid of the noise for a few weeks and then it came back. Phil at CPC had no real explanation on why the piston/cylinder had the issue but he has seen it a few times. Yes timing chain guides were replaced and so were the con bearings. The main bearings we...

Re: What did you do in your ALPINA today?

Took the B10 to Caffeine and Machine to reach a 1000 miles in two weeks after engine work - nice selection of cars to have a look at

Re: B10 V8 Engine Noise - Help Required

Picked up the car today after 6 weeks of it being at CPC. After full engine strip down, lined and rebore of 1 cylinder, new piston, head gasket, and all seals replaced no more tapping noise!

Big thanks to Phil and Boris for doing such a great job!

Now need to get some gentle miles down.

Very true. In reality the cost is less than many pay a year in depreciation- well at least that’s what I have convinced myself off :D

Re: B10 V8 Engine Noise - Help Required

Well after 3 years and the noise getting a bit louder, I took the car to Phil at CPC. Turns out it’s coming from a cylinder valve due to some scoring. Luckily it appears to be one cylinder As car is on 100k miles and has leaks from crank seal, timing chain cover and is also on original organic hea...

Hi. Had a small incident with a low boulder which has put the exhaust tail pipe out of line. Had it checked out and no damage except for alignment. Can anyone send me the below measurements so i can inform the garage who are going to sort? How far the exhaust tips protrude from the rear valence? Are...

So had the rear control arms replaced today and all seems ok. For the power steering leak, I got new reservoir and Meyle hoses from All German Parts. The rest of the bolts, seals, clips etc I got from BMW. The hose that goes to the cooler fitted fine, the other one was not correct so will be returni...

Hopefully sorting all the parts for the power steering this week so will let you know. As for the connectivity, from what I can work out, the car was built July 2000 but not registered until May 2001. It's got the nokia phone with snap in connector, navigation, tv (analogue) , upgraded HiFi, CD mult...
