I more or less expected that - I think they are being optimistic but it's a lovely car and there is nothing wrong with it. The reason I couldn't achieve a sale after extensive advertising (I am told) is that as a private seller I was unable to offer finance and everybody wants that these days. That ...

Thanks for the suggestion - I guess webuyanycar is worth a try but I think I'll have one more go with Auto Trader first. I'm quite surprised it hasn't sold but I think diesels are a bit marmite for some at the moment. Shame - it's a really fab car and only for sale because I've accumulated too many ...

Not sure why my post about selling this was deleted - maybe I broke some moderator rule?

Car is reduced to £27,500 - anyone who wants to view can pm me.

Selling my D4 £27,500

Built to my spec and collected by me from the Buchloe factory in October 2014. I'm the only person to have driven it and I have loved every mile, averaging 39 mpg overall. 0-60 in 4.6 seconds, 350 bhp & 516 lb ft of torque have a quality all of their own. Beautiful in Alpina Green with Saddle leathe...

It doesn't happen often, but then I do very little town driving. I was just puzzled by the occasionally very different noise at a given engine speed and load, but as the man from Alpina says they . . 'have removed almost all silencer volume in comparison to a standard BMW exhaust system' and made it...

I now think that's exactly what it is - coincidentally I have just today had an email exchange with the factory in which they make the same suggestion. They also say that there is no ECU-operated or other flap in the exhaust and no 'artificial' noise generation.

FWIW I've done 7,000+ miles in my D4 (collected on 24th Sept) and I'm getting a genuine 39 mpg. Driven at the same pace my last car, a 635d, was giving 32 mpg. I just love the car but have a couple of questions another owner might be able to answer:- 1. I find my brake discs pick up what I presume i...
