Used the B2.5 to drive down to the coast for the weekend.
Took advantage of the folding seats to accommodate the bikes.

Re: B5 GT Touring for sale?
The original owner did a great job in speccing this one and while I liked the original wheel colour but I must say, it really pops with the wheels in silver. I don't understand how people can commit to a purchase like this though and not anticipate that it might not be the car for them. Surely you c...

Re: What did you do in your ALPINA today?
My B2.5 has been pressed in to daily duties as my other car is currently undergoing repair. So a trip to the tip:

Re: E46 B3 front dampers
10 years ago when I was sorting out my B3 I had this dilemma, although the previous owner had fitted a brand new Sachs damper to get it through the MOT shortly before I bought it. https://thealpinaregister.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=50&t=15268&hilit=170&start=24 I chose to match up what was on the c...

Do you really need an LSD?
There's was a for sale post recently where a D5 was being sold with an LSD, a rarely selected option it seems. A comment that followed suggested it was "a must". Ignoring the specific car for a moment, in normal everyday use (i.e. motorways, dual carriageways, urban environments) is there any benefi...

Re: M cars and Alpina meet - 3 September 2023
Couple of photos from this event. There were lots of superbly clean Alpinas to look at but I only had eyes for the E36s! Re: Replacement front calliper
I refurbed the calipers on my B3 3.3 back in 2012/13. If you are handy with the spanners it's a very rewarding job. This was the state of the piston in the caliper which causing me the same issue as yours. https://i.postimg.cc/KzSSBh50/Alpina_B3_110.jpg And the new ones that went in, which came from...

Re: Spare Parts
A year ago or so I needed a full set of locks. I contacted AWD and they had them but their shipping was prohibitive for such small items. I've just done a test ordered and it's currently/still showing £18 + VAT for shipping for a lock set. I felt this was needlessly expensive so I went to Sytner Sun...

2023 G21 B3 Touring - Isle of Wight
Surprisingly I've spotted another green B3 Touring here on the Isle of Wight. This one is much newer and has only been on the road for six weeks or so too.

2019 G12 B7 - London Waterloo
Spotted this LCI B7 from the 6th floor window of my hotel in London Waterloo, hence grainy quality.
Presumably not many of these about?

Re: BMW UK - Pistonheads Sunday Service
You missed yours! Good to see you James (and the other familiar faces, and new ones) That V8 S pictured sounds crazy loud these days. Somewhat foolishly I forgot to take a picture of mine! Good to see you too, albeit briefly. That is my old V8S number 33, present owner has fitted a new exhaust with...

BMW UK - Pistonheads Sunday Service
A good Alpina turnout today at the Pistonheads Sunday Service, which was a short drive away for me at the BMW UK HQ in Farnborough. Re: New owner B3 3.3 n499
Interesting to note that it has a 6 speed box since the car it was based on, a pre-facelifted 330i, only came with a 5 speed box. They didn't get a six speed unit until the facelift which makes me wonder what car Alpina sourced the gearbox from. I found some info about it in their parts catalog: - ...
