Re: F31 side decals

A slight word of warning when replacing side graphics: if you're doing a part replacement with non-OEM parts (sytner can supply BTW) you may not get a colour match as there are a number of vinyl suppliers and there are noticeable shade differences. ALPINA were using Avery Dennison IIRC. Ideally, a f...

Re: D3 engine

The car is a 6 sp manual with a bit of clutch judder but no rattles from the dual mass or timing chain. Thanks DMF judder is quite normal on this era of setup from BMW. I'd suggest avoiding tuners as the extra torque will trash the standard DMF in short time as it overloads the drive springs. I've ...

Re: D3 engine

Hi What engine does my E90 #0147 have registered in 2010. Its a bi turbo with 92k miles. Any idea on its worth and should i consider getting it remapped as i was expecting it to have lots of grunt. I was told its 200BHP as it has an M47 engine The above from the OP should be sufficient here: 2010, ...

Re: B3 / B5

Can't comment on ALPINA versions of any as I've stayed away from them, but driven plenty of recent 3's, 4's and 5's: in fact was in a 4 just last week. The 5 is a more rounded car, and far better designed and put together (I have a major issue with BMW's continual use of the manual handbrake on the ...

Re: D3 Bi Turbo FJ61JZO

yes it does have red badges and wing mirrors. was unsure if they were standard but someone one the facebook page has told me that sytner did this to the car. Sytner did produce a lot of 'specials'. Their appeal to buyers, especially used, is subject to individual taste but all are valid. Won't affe...

Re: D3 DPF "Challenges"

Id recommend you change relay. Clear codes. Take it for a nice long run. Check codes again. Looking at your pressure readings you dont seem to have much of a back pressure so DPF doesnt seem to be blocked, so its probably undergoing passive regen. This is the correct starting procedure for starting...

Both of these appear to be blue under the wraps.
Shame they can't stay 'under wraps'

someone correct me if i'm wrong
Ok, I will :P

You're quoting for a D3. The OP has a D3Biturbo. Brakes for a Biturbo come from the 330i/d.

Norrie, I rather think Michelin are upselling you PSS in replacement of PS2. This is uneccessary, but the final decision where you spend the money is yours. I still run PS2's on my ALPINA's as that's what they started life on. The PSS is an evolution. Nothing to be concerned over.

I have found out the front brakes where skimmed a few hundred miles ago so they will be getting replaced sharpish! Maybe that could be the problem? No: highly unlikely. The brakes would exhibit under braking if they were at fault, not at speed alone. Deformed brake discs cause massive car shake and...

The ONLY cars back in the day(pre/aft 70's) that crabbed where of the sub frame design ie mini :? I think it's terminology that's puzzled you. Crabbing effectively means that the rear of the car is trying to come round to the front force-wise. If both rear wheels are facing in the same angular dire...

Re: E92 B3 Bi Turbo in ALPINA Blue #268

I am waiting for the discerning buyer who will appreciate the cars pristine condition. The condition itself makes this rare, its in better condition than the two cars you have mentioned at Sytner, as I have see them for myself even though they are a LCI models and are not in ALPINA blue!. As to the...

Sounds like alignment. The rear is maybe trying to 'track' surface imperfections due to incorrect thrust angle This shows a few issues. Alternatively, if rear wheel balance is out on an E9x, it tends to show at speeds around 90mph as it approaches sensitive body 'swaying' natural frequencies. I wou...

That was a seriously short ownership. Were there issues with the car?
