Re: Latest Rumours- only B7 and XB7 from BMW?
I suspect that the aforementioned comments are true and like the 760Li etc, when they were still being made one hardly saw any in a showroom. Why not, because the dealership who are franchisees except the wholly owned BMW Park Lane have to purchase the vehicles when the arrive in the UK. I visited t...

Re: ALPINA Register at BimmerFest - Sunday 9th June 2024
wow that is interesting the year I went there were a host of ALPINA cars, a fair few from our group, but many from mainland Europe. It is correct there were various versions of an ALPINA from a badge to a fully wannabe replica, but I never went to wind up the natives. I enjoyed it but we did make a ...

Re: BMW Car Club National event 2024 Thruxton
I have had confirmation from the BMW Car Club Gb there is no restriction on the number of ALPINA cars that can display. Again you do NOT need to be a member to attend.

Re: List of Alpina Attendees Thruxton
I am going, so is Simon Alcorn, Sam Sheldrick and graham hatch we are all taking at least one ALPINA each. The BMWCCGB will not disclose how many people have bought tickets for ALPINA and cant give their names due to GDPR, we may get numbers nearer the date.

Re: ALPINA Register at BimmerFest - Sunday 9th June 2024
Unfortunately due to commitments I shall not be able to make this trip. However I would commend it to those have not done it before, we had a great weekend last time. I was not near the guy with the music, but this is a massive show and you will be sure to meet many other ALPINA owners from Europe. ...

Re: Help - my renewal quote doubled !!
I kept reading these massive insurance premium horror stories and therefore was anticipating an issue when my B7 was due. I renewed yesterday with Howdens aka A Plan Thatcham, net result a 60 per annum increase. Now I will wait for June 2024 when my M235i is due, insured via this same broker with th...

Re: Ultimate BMW - Sunday 28th April 2024 - British Motor Museum
According to Parmi Singh there are no spaces left for people to display ALPINA cars in the 20 space ALPINA area. Therefore, if you didnt get a display ticket its simply too late!

Re: ALPINA @ Silverstone Festival 2024 - Discussion thread
Indeed it has made zero difference if BMW owned ALPINA or not. There was a time when the ALPINA group at Silverstone used to display as part of he BMW Car Club GB stand. However we have found it to be far more advantageous to have a separate ALPINA only display which is totally independent of the BM...

Re: BMW Car Club National event 2024 Thruxton
Here is some more information provided by the Club 26.1.24. There is camping and its free. Currently, there are toilets and wash basins but no showers, however according the the lady at the Club they are looking for a resolution to that issue. From memory it is possible to park you car next to your ...

Hi Mark
Not much else you can personally do about it and thanks for your efforts. I have got a ticket but apart from chatting to other owners the gaydon experience is one I have sampled many times over the years and in terms of the museum etc nothing has changed, even the chips and tea are the same.

Re: BVP Solihull - White B7 - G11
There was a white B7 for sale a couple of years back at Sytner Sheffield or Leicester, Sheffield I think. 2018 or 2019 plate I think was up for 50K. Sorry cant recall anything other than that. I think actually it was a left hooker.

Re: One less E65 B7 in UK
Oh, you thought I had written mine off! No, its tucked away in the garage until further notice. Although with an agreed value if sadly it was written off I would not be financially disadvantaged. I am very busy running a full time business and have less time to using it save for a few events and sho...

One less E65 B7 in UK
I understand that the imported B7 (ie not one of the original eleven for UK) owned by Matt Bavaria aka Matt Swanborough has been sold and is being taken by the new owner to Spain as he wanted a left hand drive. That probably means it was a European car as opposed to one imported from Japan.

I decided to have faith in people and booked a ticket tonight. However, should I find out on the day that they have not delivered what was promised I might be expecting compensation for consequential loss.

Re: Coolant Refresh
Personally I have the coolant and transmission oil changed sporadically. I asked at the BMW factory what "sealed for life meant". The reply was its based on the expectation of the time the first owner will have the car. 50K miles or 3 years it is alleged. I am happy using an indy who I am completely...
