Was told some time ago by a sytner's sales man that they're definitely making their version of the 8 Series. Think he said it was due next year.

Back in 2011 I had the relays replaced by a guy called Colin Abraham, he works for Diamond Light Source at the Harwell Science and Innovation Campus.

I drove and met him there.....he took the unit into his work to fix them whilst I waited. Charged me £80.

If you're using Mobil 1 0w-40 in your car and have a Costco account, you can get 5ltrs for more or less £30. Plus of course, petrol at 4p/ltr cheaper than anywhere else. shell v power? I had mine done at BMTR in Birmingham. They appeared to do a good job but there was an adjustment on the front n/s wheel that they stated they couldn't do as it was something only BMW could do....think it was to do with the top of the strut?! I have contemplated getting the alignment done at BMW but...
