Re: D3 Bi Turbo engine N47 Power loss EGR delete ?

Down on power normally means power is being restricted by ECU. Usual suspect is blocked DPF. When the DPF is #50% blocked the engine restricts power so as not to accelerate the DPF blocking. Id recommend taking it to get the codes read and take it from there. Regarding swirl flaps - yes good idea to...

Re: D3 2009 Alloy centre cap badges

If your just replacing the badge which has the Shock Absorber emblem rather than the whole centre cap, on my 2006 D3 i used a plastic knife to level the old sticky badge off, cleaned up any sticky residue with white spirit and then stuck the Pukar badges on. Had them on for 7 years without issue, g...

Re: D3 DPF "Challenges"

Hi

Id recommend you change relay. Clear codes. Take it for a nice long run. Check codes again.

Looking at your pressure readings you dont seem to have much of a back pressure so DPF doesnt seem to be blocked, so its probably undergoing passive regen.

How many miles has she done?

I had the glow plugs and module replaced last year as these were faulty. I’ve just been to my beemer mechanic and the stats aren’t working properly as they’re only getting to 59 degrees. Thanks for the reply. On the off chance do you know how long the Alpina register stickers take to come? Hi...

I went down the route of aftermarket DPF after my original was beyond recovery 100000 miles. It was a cost saving exercise. Suffice to say the car didnt like it and it blocked. It was replaced under warrant lke for like and teh same thing happened. I got it changed out for a genuine replacement (£9...

Since my last update, I've had the exhaust back pressure checked a couple more times when I've been back to the indy. Both times at a very healthy 0mbar. I've covered 2680 miles since the last DPF blockage so regeneration must have successfully taken place over this period. Today I had the EGR ther...

Re: D3 2.0 or 3.0

Hi All, I have previously only owned Petrol version Alpinas, e30,e36 and e46 but would be interested in your thoughts on the 2 litre and 3 litre diesel cars. clutch and flywheel are standard BMW parts. Should be able to get replacements easy enough without paying main dealer prices. I had mine changed last year as DMF was rattling and I had the dreaded clutch judder on cold days.
