They don't look like genuine BMW wheels to me and at that size they're the wrong size for your car's recommended set up. But for the price, they don't look too bad. Aftermarket are fine: we've used our aftermarket OZ set on one E85 Alpina and 2xF21's in 8 years, and currently contemplating selling ...

Should be 17". Your B pillar wheel and tyre sticker should give you your options, though, as will your handbook. Our similar age Roadster S (essentially E46 parts) used 17's and that had a bigger front brake caliper than your B3 3.3. Ensuring the correct offset is just as important as the diameter.....

With regards to LSD conversions (specifically the ones carried out by Birds BMW) is there a way that a technician would be able to tell if one had been fitted without an extensive road test? From a visual inspection, the Quaife LSD isn't apparent as it is fitted inside the car's original differenti...

Was the “ALPINA” badge still available? Don’t suppose you have a part number of know if it’s the same dimensions as an e39 boot badge? The new chrome ALPINA badge is still available, and the letters stand 23mm high. I don't know if it's exactly the same as an E39 badge, although I have had ...

E9x b3biturbos are plagued by two well known faults: high pressure fuel pump (hpfp) failure and turbocharger wastegate rattling on idle. Worth checking any history there, and if any trouble starting or going straight to a rough idle, suspect hpfp.

The ultra proofer is spot on. Not used the others. The recommended cleaning method I followed is to use washing powder as it's gritty, and a good stuff brush. Open the hood and get into the recess at the back when the roof fabric isn't taught. Obviously, rinse thoroughly and dry thoroughly before an...

Yes. When I can eventually get the car out  I'll give them a working over and see if they stay on. Ought to, as low CF where they're mounted.

I'm not that familiar with alloy repair, but the bubbling issue is something that can be repaired without issue? Needs a full alloy wheel refurbishment to remove all traces of corrosion and new valves fitted with a soft interface with wheel rather than original steel washer (which is main cause of ...

Quite some reduction from the starting point, and now about right for a warranted RS with hopefully all faults highlighted and cleared before handover. Shows how 'out there' the initial price was, though

Batteries, bulb, switch, charging contacts can go wrong. IIRC they're pretty well sealed up. Long ago I had one 'die' and I'm far from averse from dismantling stuff as it's my 'thing'. I didn't bother with the torch and spent my time better elsewhere!
