Sounds like sensible best practice when replacing a turbo on a modern diesel. Turbo failures tend to contaminate the oil, the DPF or both. I used the FSDs and found them to be really, really good. They did firm the car up a lot, but then it was still running the original shocks when I had them replaced at over 100k miles and, to put it charitably, they were completely shagged. Did the car lose the Alpina "magic" as a result? Maybe, but...
