Although the temperatures may not drop below 7C, in Luxembourg (and I think Germany too) the official time to change-over is end Oct/beginning Nov.

The phrase I was told was ''Oktober bis Ostern'' - October til Easter in English

But can you call a car rare just because in RHD there were a minority, if overall throughout the world there were 100's/1000's produced?

In my opinion not, you have to take the whole Series as it was produced.

Its going to be a toss up between trying to get over 40mpg or trying to hit the 170+ top speed if conditions allow on the A3 (not the one in England, obviously).
