Tesla vs Alpina

I've only perceptions rather than measurements, but I was lucky enough to passenger in both a Tesla S & an Aston Martin Taraf a couple of years back, both driven very enthusiastically on track. Very impressive machines, but the Tesla did leave me cold - just the sound of a couple of spin dryers as t...

Fair point Mark but it will stop the car showing it's age and will remind me what model I own Smile

What's the mileage? If it's not had a gearbox oil & filter change may be worth looking at. Mine was done three or four years back, & it's smooth as silk whatever the temperature.

If we're talking about Classics, they're a generic lock, so a locksmith should be able to get you some. If you have the old one to size against that'll help. £5 ish each should do it.

That is odd. My understanding was that all V8s had the standard 540 spec which included electric seats and cruise. Yes, seems like basic equipment on an Alpina to me. But is maybe different because it was headed to Japan? (at least I think it was since Navi DVD is for Japan, manual was japanese, Ra...

Johan wrote:As the subject says I have no cruise control or electric seats in in my B10. It seems a little odd to me, was that normal?

Johan
I suspect there is no "normal" as such - it'll depend on the original owners options, matched with the country of origin.

Nice.....I see you're in the same area as me so who did you use just out of interest?
- not sure tbh! The guy who looks after most of the fleet subbed it to a contact of his somewhere in Bournemouth/Poole I think. I can ask when I see him next if you want?

Mine died internally: had it refurbed with a new regulator, then it dumped me by the kerb on a dark night with a trailer hitched up (carrying a portable loo..!). The guy that refurbed it reckoned the wiring had failed internally, & he very kindly agreed a swap at no cost, but it made me wonder if it...

IIRC if you disconnect the battery for 20 mins or so, the ECU defaults back to factory. On a standard 540 the autobox has a learning mode too, which resets, but I believe Alpina disable this. However, a pristine battery coupled with a "Microsoft reset" may well have sorted things for you? I know whe...
